NNOCCI Supported My Career Transitions – Dr. Richelle Tanner

I was in a Study Circle 3 years ago when I was a PhD student at UC Berkeley.

NNOCCI has socially and emotionally supported me through 3 career transitions. In my current position as a scientist at UC Davis, California Sea Grant it has definitely helped me in my grant writing, and with the way I communicate my research with the public and my colleagues. I’ve had a lot of fun running trainings at the academic level within my department and at conferences. It has definitely helped me gain new research partners like Megan Ennes at the University of Florida. We are going to collaborate on research together this year and it’s all because of NNOCCI. I think this has been fundamental to my development as a scientist and I can’t say enough good things about NNOCCI.
